Steve Long
grew up
playing soccer with friends in the dirt streets of
Brazil. After graduating from Wheaton College, Steve played in 1979 and 1980 on
the US
Olympic team, completing a 32-nation European tour. Since then,
Steve has also played for the Chicago Sting
(NASL), the Memphis
Americans (MISL), the Las
Vegas Americans (MISL), and the
Jackson Rockers
(MISL indoor). He
holds a USSF “B” National Coaching
License.
Steve has been training kids around the
world—from African refugees in
Portugal, to
gang kids in Miami,
to local American kids who hope to hone
their skills and improve their game.
Steve’s philosophy is to improve by
applying skills in actual game settings.
He teaches plenty of fun, samba-style,
Brazilian moves and gives players
plenty of time to try them out in three-on-three or five-on-five
games.

working with kids locally—combining both outdoor training and
futsal
(Brazilian style indoor soccer). If

Mansfield Soccer
Association is happy to announce it has teamed up with British
Soccer & Challenger Sports to bring a higher level of training
to our MSA players and coaches for this coming summer.
Challenger is providing MSA a week long camp this summer, August
2th to August 6th 2010.
MSA encourages players and coaches to take advantage of this
great opportunity. Coaches are welcome to come to the skill
training sessions to observe and learn new drills and skills.
The camp will be held at the Mansfield Sports Complex. These
fields are located
at 920 N. Holland, Mansfield TX
76063.
